Online Training Session on SBSTTA 26 Agenda Topics

In light of the upcoming SBSTTA-26 meeting which is going to take place from the 13-18 May 2024, CO-OP4CBD is organising an online training session on 2 April. The session is designed to delve into key topics of the agenda of this critical preparatory event for the upcoming 16th Conference of the Parties  to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP 16). It aims to equip scientific experts, National Focal Points (NFPs) and negotiators with the knowledge and strategies needed for impactful participation in these pivotal biodiversity conservation discussions.


Participants will have the opportunity to delve into four selected subjects from SBSTTA-26 agenda items: the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Monitoring Framework, the "biotechnology package" encompassing synthetic biology, risk assessment, and detection of living modified organisms, marine and coastal biodiversity conservation, and the intersection of biodiversity and health.


Led by esteemed experts in these fields, the training session aims to facilitate a deep understanding of these complex topics within the context of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). Whether you are a seasoned professional or new to the field, this session offers valuable insights and opportunities for learning.
