10 Oct 2024

August 2024 saw a showcase of the CO-OP4CBD project at the annual Congress of Hungarian Ecologists (MÖK2024) in the city of Szeged, Hungary. The 13th edition of the conference was attended by over 150 researchers and featured more than 110 presentations on a variety of topics in the field of ecology.

Among those contributions was an infographic poster presenting the CO-OP4CBD project which was introduced by Tímea Németh from the HUN-REN Centre for Ecological Research

The poster succinctly presented CO-OP4CBD’s vision for ensuring a more efficient implementation of the UN’s Convention on Biological Diversity (UN CBD) in Europe. In that sense, it raised awareness regarding the need for more substantive engagement between governmental, academic and civic stakeholders as the continent strives to lead the way in biodiversity conservation and restoration. The poster provided a better understanding of the aspects of the science-policy interface supporting biodiversity related to implementing the UN CBD and the associated Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KM GBF) in the EU and associated countries.

CO-OP4CBD’s representation at the Congress is a testament to its continued commitment to reach out to a variety of stakeholders across Europe in an attempt to harness expertise surrounding the future of the UN CBD.

Stay tuned for the continued coverage of the project’s contributions and milestones in its endeavour to ensure high-quality and lasting cooperation for the UN CBD.
