CO-OP4CBD partners from the Transformative Change Cluster featured in European Commission publication

In May 2025, the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD) of the European Commission published a brochure singling out EU-funded projects dedicated to facilitating transformative change for biodiversity. More than 40 initiatives were featured in the showcase, including long-standing partners of CO-OP4CBD from the Transformative Change Cluster such as BAMBOO, BioAgora, BIONEXT, BIOTraCes, BIOTRAILS, BioValue, CLEVER, PLANET4B, RAINFOREST, TC4BE and TRANSPATH.

By way of background, the document discussed transformative change as a key objective on the road to global biodiversity commitments laid out in agreements such as the UN Convention on Biological Diversity and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. Those are complemented by the ambitions of the EU’s own Green Deal and Biodiversity Strategy for 2030, necessitating a substantive push towards tangible results on the ground. Scientific input is considered essential in this context, a conclusion at the heart of the varied multitude of research projects that the brochure sheds light on.
