The CO-OP4CBD project team is looking for experts to engage in project activities within the project's biodiversity expert network.
The opportunity is presented to researchers and practitioners of all levels of career development in Europe, EEA, and other countries. By becoming members of the network, experts become a part of the science-policy synergy that aims to contribute to the successful implementation of the UN Convention of Biological Diversity (CBD) at both the national and regional levels.
The members of the expert network both receive and provide training in biodiversity protection processes, and take part in thematic groups focused on the provision of specific input on topics featured in the agenda of the CBD Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA).
This call is open to researchers and/or practitioners from the following fields:

Biodiversity and health;

Use of Digital Sequence Information on Genetic Resources;

Conservation and sustainable use of marine and coastal biodiversity
-
Detection and identification of Living Modified Organisms (LMOs)
-
Ecologically or Biologically Significant Marine Areas (EBSAs)
-
Monitoring framework for the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework
-
Risk assessment and risk management for LMOs
-
Synthetic biology.
By joining the CO-OP4CBD expert network, experts receive the opportunity to attend online capacity-building workshops which are scheduled to take place in the first quarter of 2024. Selected experts may be invited to take part in special in-person workshops, as well as to contribute to the development of technical briefs that address the topic of biodiversity protection through the mechanisms of the Convention of biological diversity.
