CO-OP4CBD is looking to identify thematic experts to actively participate in shaping science-policy processes for the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in the EU and Associated Countries. This presents an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to policy development in the scope of CBD.
The initial formative workshops are scheduled for September this year. We are currently seeking experts who are willing to volunteer their time for training on CBD procedures and lend their expertise to thematic groups after that. These groups will provide valuable input on CBD agenda items. This serves as the inaugural call for experts within the four-year project, with the intention of establishing thematic expert groups that foster the science-policy interface in Europe.
In accordance with the topics announced for SBSTTA-25, CO-OP4CBD is currently seeking expertise in the following fields:
- Biodiversity indicators and monitoring
- Biodiversity and ecosystem services
- Sustainable wildlife management
- Invasive alien species
- Biodiversity and climate change
- Plant conservation
By joining our network of experts, you will have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the CBD process and actively contribute to the development of biodiversity policies. Tailored training programs will be provided to enhance your ability to contribute effectively to the CBD, based on your specific area of expertise. Moreover, you will have the chance to connect with fellow researchers in your field and stay updated with the latest advancements in CBD-related matters. Your participation in this network of experts is valuable for improving the science-policy interface and advancing research in similar fields.
